Accommodation in our self-catering holiday cottage

Grange Brook is a self-catering holiday cottage situated in the centre of the village of Castleton, Hope Valley, in the heart of the Peak District National Park.

The cottage dates from the 16th century and is a former cruck barn. The old beams of the barn are a feature in all the upstairs rooms and the ground floor rooms also have large exposed old oak beams.

Entering at the front door, the kitchen is on the right and the dining room (which leads to the lounge) on your left, with stairs leading up the the bedrooms.

The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped with an Aga stove, plus a gas cooker and hob, double sink, dishwasher, fridge and washing machine.

Beyond the kitchen there is a lobby leading out to the back door. The lobby area contains an ironing board and iron, and off this lobby there is a downstairs shower room and toilet.

To the left of the main entrance lies the dining room, which has exposed oak beams and an old stone fireplace with a gas stove.

Going down some steps from the dining room you enter the lounge, which is in a new section recently added to the rear of the cottage. This has two settees plus easy chairs, an oak dresser and a flat-screen TV plus DVD player. French windows give easy access to the garden.

The garden is private and spacious, flanked on one side by a brook (which gives the cottage its name) and with hedges and fences on the other sides. The garden has a view towards the hills and garden furniture is provided.

Going upstairs, the main bedroom is a double room at the front of the cottage, with the lovely old beams of the cruck barn exposed.

At the back of the cottage there is a twin bedroom, once again with the exposed beams of the cruck barn.

There is also a small single bedroom, with similar beams. This room is quite small and has limited storage space, so would probably be best used as a child's room.

There is a well-proportioned bathroom with washbasin, toilet and bath, with a shower attachment fitted.

All prices include bed linen and one bath towel and one hand towel per person.

At the front of the cottage there is space to park one car.

Grange Brook is a no smoking cottage and we regret we are unable to accept pets or children aged under 5 years.

The cottage is privately owned and the owners are local residents.
